Kukio: Water Conservation Critical

Hawaii Water Service will be performing scheduled water infrastructure improvement projects at the Kukio Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment Plant and at the water reservoir tank, which are at 312-feet elevation, on Monday, September 14, 2020. These upgrades will require the temporary shutdown of the upper part of the water system. As a result, we are asking you to take special water conservation measures until we complete these important improvement projects, in order to help prevent any interruptions in water service.

Please begin to reduce your water usage by adjusting irrigation timers starting on Sunday morning, September 13, at 10 a.m. On Monday, September 14, please limit your water usage to meet health and sanitary needs only and eliminate the use of water for irrigation throughout the day. Normal water usage can resume on Tuesday morning after 8 a.m.

We greatly appreciate your cooperation and thank you for your patience as we complete these important projects that will improve water system reliability for our community for everyday and emergency needs, both now and for decades to come.
