Hawaii Water Supports Communities Through 2016 Charitable Giving

Hawaii Water supports an array of local organizations throughout the year as part of its ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life in the communities it serves. The company donated approximately $20,000 to local charitable organizations in 2016, ranging from food banks to environmental organizations, to educational foundations, women’s services, animal welfare, and more.

Hawaii Water supported many local charities through monetary donations in 2016, including United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawaii, Women Helping Women, Maui Food Bank, The Food Basket (Big Island), La’a Kea Foundation, and Friends of the Library-Waikoloa Region, to name a few. Hawaii Water also offered support through event sponsorship and participation in community events such as the Parker School Fairways & Friends Golf Tournament, Waikoloa Village Association Fun Fest, and the Kona Marathon. All funds were donated by the company’s stockholders as part of the company’s philanthropic giving program and not paid for by ratepayers.

“At Hawaii Water, we are not just committed to providing high-quality, reliable water service, we are also part of the community, proudly serving residents and businesses throughout the state,” said General Manager Tony Carrasco. “We believe that supporting worthy organizations that improve the quality of life is part of our promise to provide quality, service, and value.”
