Due to unforeseen mechanical issues with two of our well site locations, we are currently experiencing lower-than-normal tank levels throughout our water system. We are working diligently to get these well sites operational as soon as possible, and will update you when we’ve completed the work and can resume normal water use. We would like to ask for everyone’s cooperation conserving water throughout this process so that we have a sufficient amount of resources for both our customers and fire protection purposes throughout the Ka’anapali District.
Beginning Tuesday, September 1, Hawaii Water Service will be moving to Tier 1 water conservation for the Ka’anapali District. Tier 1 conservation allows up to 80% of normal water use (a 20% reduction). For example, if your typical usage is 1,000 gallons per day, Tier 1 allows up to 800 gallons per day. If irrigation demand exceeds available supply, we may need to go to higher conservation tiers to maintain adequate fire protection and tank levels.
